Obituary for Bernard W. "Bernie" Miller

Bernard W. "Bernie"  Miller
Bernard W. "Bernie" Miller, 86, formerly of Pennside, and most recently of the Keystone Villa at Fleetwood, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2017 in Penn State Health- St. Joseph Medical Center. He was the husband of Dolores E. (Zondlo) Miller. Born in Reading, he was a son of the late William T. and Mary C. (Goncher) Miller. Bernie was a graduate of Central Catholic High School in 1948 and was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of St. Cyril and Methodius R.C.C.-Reading, where he sang in the choir and was the past president and 60 year member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union Local #19. Bernie was also a life member of the Sokols and the Liberty Fireman's Relief Association. He loved college basketball and Penn State Football. He enjoyed watching the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles play. He had lots of fun playing Pinochle with his friends at Keystone Villa, but the greatest joys in his life were his God and his family. He was employed as a sheet metal worker for Local #19 for 35 years, retiring in 1992. In addition to his wife, Bernie is survived by one son, William Frank Miller husband of Bonnie of Crestwood; two daughters, Nancy A. wife of Brad Beisswanger of Wells, Maine and Diane M. Frymoyer of Leesport; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by his sister, Elizabeth Parznik. Visitation with family and friends will be held on Thursday Evening, March 16, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. 2100 Perkiomen Ave. Mount Penn, PA 19606. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 17, 2017 at 9:45 a.m. in St. Cyril and Methodius R.C.C., 449 S. 6th Street, Reading, PA 19602. Entombment in Gethsemane Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Peter's R.C.C. in memory of Bernie and send to 322 S. 5th Street, Reading, PA 19602.
